9 Features of Microsoft Stream

Microsoft Stream is a storage platform for your videos that allows you to share them with your various collaborators. Microsoft Stream is available in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The advantage of Microsoft Stream is that you can integrate all Microsoft applications (like SharePoint) with it. In this article you will see how to integrate Microsoft Stream with your other Microsoft applications.

1- Chaînes

Thanks to the channels in Stream, you can easily arrange your different videos by subject or group. For example, you can have a channel dedicated to team projects, or different departments in your organization (training, human resources, etc.). To add more security to your channels located within Microsoft Stream, you will need to manage your settings from within Microsoft 365 groups.

2- Microsoft 365 Working Group

Vous ne le saviez peut-être pas, mais dès que vous créez un groupe dans Microsoft 365, cela crée un espace de You might not know it, but as soon as you create a group in Microsoft 365, it automatically creates a corresponding workspace in Microsoft Stream for your videos. A Microsoft 365 group is a secure space where you can easily collaborate with your colleagues, and share videos, and only members of the group will have access.

Once you are on the “Groups” tab, you will have access to all of the videos belonging to the various groups you are a part of. You can also create a new workspace to store your videos, from the same screen. This will also create a Microsoft 365 group within all of it’s the other apps (Planner, Outlook Calendar, SharePoint). This is one of the many ways to create a Microsoft 365 group.

3- Embed Videos on SharePoint

You will be able to add videos stored in Microsoft Stream directly from SharePoint. You just have to add Stream WebPart to your list of applications in SharePoint – then you will have the ability to embed all videos, all channels, or just some videos. This is a great feature for embedding content directly in your SharePoint sites.

4- Integrate Your Videos into Microsoft Teams

As we mentioned above, you can integrate Stream into the platforms you use daily to facilitate access to your video content. To do this, you just have to add a tab in the channel of your choice, and add Stream to it. In this case, your videos will be automatically added to that same channel, and there is no need to go to Microsoft Stream.

5- Teams Video Calls or Meetings Can Be Recorded in Stream

You have the option to record your calls or meetings directly in Microsoft Teams, and at the end of the call or meeting, your recording will be stored directly in Stream. So, you can easily watch it again, or share it with others.

6- Add a Form to Your Stream Videos

You can, if you wish, add a Microsoft Form to your Stream videos. You can use this feature to, for example, get feedback from your employees or collaborators on the video.

7- Transcription and Subtitles for Your Videos

This feature allows you to transcribe your videos and display the text, on the video.

8- Access Your Videos from Your Mobile

Like most Microsoft tools, you will have access to the Microsoft Stream application from your mobile. So you can find your videos easily, even on the go.

9- Live Events

Finally, just a quick note to let you know that you can hold live events, just like you can on Facebook. However, live events are only accessible for people with certain licenses (E1, E3 or E5).
