5 New Microsoft Teams Features To Get You Together Online!

Due to the current health crisis, telework has been adopted by many companies across Quebec. Communications through video conferencing have skyrocketed, and employees have quickly gotten used to meeting online. But you’re probably wondering how to keep personal connections with your colleagues while working from home? Here we take the time to introduce you to the latest enhancements to Microsoft Teams. These improvements will allow you to build stronger relationships with your colleagues, and establish new ones.

Simplified Call Experience

Microsoft Teams has improved its calling experience with a simplified view. Your main view includes a keypad, your call history, voicemail, contacts, and settings. This new visual avoids dispersion and promotes fluidity during your working day. It is also possible to save your call recordings directly within OneDrive and SharePoint (instead of Stream). These recordings make it possible to follow the ideas exchanged during calls, after the fact. This new feature also provides the ability to share recorded content with external guests, and greater storage capacity.

Make and Receive Calls Easily

Making and receiving calls in the car will be easier with CarPlay support for Teams Calling. CarPlay will allow you to use your vehicle’s built-in controls to manage Teams. You’ll also be able to use Siri to make hands-free calls with CarPlay. When travelling for work, you sometimes need to change locations or devices, which ends a call. With an easy-to-use interface on the Teams app, you can start a call on your cell phone and then transfer your call to your computer.

Reinforcement in the Identification of Unwanted Calls

Spam calls can inconvenience you, disrupt your workflow, and cause you to stop answering calls from unknown phone numbers. Microsoft Teams uses the most advanced techniques to identify potentially unwanted calls, and allow you to answer incoming calls with confidence.

Save Your Mobile Data

Whether you’re traveling outdoors or somewhere with a poor network connection, you may want to limit your cellular data usage while on a video call. With new features in Microsoft Teams, you’ll be able to change your settings in Teams to cap the amount of data used during your video calls, and set different parameters depending on the type of network you’re using – mobile or Wi-Fi.

Controlled Call Forwarding

During call transfers, you can be sure to keep your contact online, even if your internal contact is not available. If the transfer recipient does not answer, the call will be automatically redirected to you. This new feature allows you to ensure an optimal experience for your interlocutor.
